Barry Lubarsky, PhD, has spent more than 15 years in various medical affairs roles. He is currently Vice President of Medical Affairs Strategy at Alkermes. In this role, Barry leads the medical affairs medical director teams that drive the medical strategic plans in support of Alkermes’ expanding portfolio of CNS drugs and its emerging pipeline in immune-oncology. In addition, Barry is spearheading a digital transformation initiative within the medical affairs function. Prior to joining Alkermes, Barry led the build-out of a medical affairs group to support the development of innovative ophthalmic therapies at Ocular Therapeutix. Before Ocular, Barry was at Vertex Pharmaceuticals, where he led a medical director group that supported the launches of personalized genetic medicines for the treatment of patients with cystic fibrosis. Barry also has medical affairs experience in the area of hemophilia while at Bayer Healthcare Pharmaceuticals, as well as inflammation and dermatology prior.
